Ayurveda

Dinacharya is the Ayurvedic daily routine - a sequence of practices performed at optimal times to maintain health and prevent disease. It aligns personal activities with the natural rhythms of the day, when different doshas are dominant.

A traditional dinacharya includes: rising before sunrise, elimination, tongue scraping, oil pulling, self-massage (abhyanga), bathing, meditation, yoga, and eating meals at regular times. Each practice serves a specific purpose in maintaining dosha balance and supporting the body’s natural functions.

The power of dinacharya lies in consistency rather than perfection. Regular routine grounds vata, provides structure that all doshas thrive on, and creates the stability necessary for healing. Even a simple routine practiced consistently yields more benefit than an elaborate one practiced sporadically.
